   Study blueprints and measure surfaces

   Examine blueprints and measure surfaces to determine the amount of material needed.

   Prepare surfaces for tiling

   Attach lath or waterproof paper, or apply a cement mortar coat to a metal screen.

   Mix and apply adhesive

   Mix, apply, and spread mortar or other adhesives to form a bed for the tiles.

   Lay and set tiles

   Align and straighten tiles, applying mortar to the back and pressing them into place.

   Finish joints and clean excess grout

   Dress the joints and wipe excess grout from between tiles using a damp sponge.
